Experience the power of virtual human simulations

Research Proven

Kognito’s simulations result in statistically significant and sustainable changes in skills, attitudes, and behaviors, based on data from over 20 peer-reviewed articles.

Practice-Based & Interactive

When subject matter experts combine with science-backed learning design, our virtual simulations aren’t just engaging — they’re proven to lead to real change in knowledge and skills. Realistic virtual humans adapt their responses based on user choices, so no two experiences are the same.

Powerful Analytics & Insights

Evaluation of program effectiveness and user insights on preparedness, confidence, and behavior change via Kognito’s survey data.

Implementation Support

Our dedicated team is with you every step of the way, helping plan and execute a strategic implementation that meets your unique needs and sets you up for success. Clients have access to onboarding support, a dedicated client success manager, technical support, and more.

Experience the power of human simulations

Kognito designs learning experiences with virtual humans that address real world social, emotional, and physical health, reaching across educational and healthcare environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Kognito simulations evidence-based?

Kognito simulations draw on components of the Kognito Behavior Change Model which includes two parts: 1) instructional design, which draws from the science of education and learning theory, and 2) conversation, which integrates evidence-based communication strategies drawn from models in social cognition and neuroscience. Results from over 20 peer-reviewed articles show that Kognito’s simulations result in statistically significant and sustainable changes in skills, attitudes, and behaviors. Numerous studies examining the impact of Kognito simulations were listed in SAMHSA’s National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP), and many can be found on the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) website. Why does Kognito use virtual humans?

Role-play with virtual humans has many educational and economic advantages across different groups of learners and industries. Virtual humans are an alternative to traditional live role-play training, as they are accessible to more learners at a lower cost, allow for standardized learning, and eliminate feelings of judgment from in-person role-play that impede learning and retention. Kognito’s virtual humans respond in realistic ways that mimic real-life behavior, thus driving the learning experience.  Our virtual humans are designed to have a neutral appearance which makes them equally effective across all demographics, including race and ethnicity. Learners report that they feel more comfortable, more willing to experiment with different communication styles, and more willing to receive feedback from a virtual human.
